This is by far the BEST oatmeal cookie I've found! A personal favorite--
Oven: 350 degrees F
1/2 C Shortening
1/2 C Butter (not margarine)
3/4 C packed brown sugar
3/4 C granular sugar
2 eggs
1-1/2 C all-purpose flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 C rolled oats
2 C semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions: Preheat oven to 350. Cream shortening, butter, and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Combine baking soda, salt, and flour. Stir into creamed mixture.
Mix in oatmeal then chocolate chips. Stir until well blended. Drop teaspoon fulls onto greased cookie sheet & bake for 15 min.
*Caution: may not be able to refrain from eating too many! ;)
